Orihuela Costa is 16 km of coastline in the south of the Costa Blanca, between Torrevieja to the north and Pilar de la Horadada to the south. It belongs to the town of Orihuela, about 35 km inland. There is no single town centre, but a string of areas, each with its own character. This guide helps you choose yours, then make the most of the region.

How do I get to Orihuela Costa?
The nearest airport is Alicante, about 45 minutes by car via the N-332. You can rent a car there: see our page car rental at Alicante airport.
Do I need a car in Orihuela Costa?
Not necessarily: in Playa Flamenca and Torrevieja, you can do everything on foot. Elsewhere, a car is more practical to reach the beaches, golf courses and day trips.
Orihuela Costa or Torrevieja?
Torrevieja is a real town, lively all year round. Orihuela Costa is a string of residential areas by the sea, quieter, with golf nearby. The two meet: Los Altos and Punta Prima are on the border.
Which area for a family holiday?
Punta Prima, Los Altos and Playa Flamenca: complexes with a pool, some with a paddling pool and a playground.
Where to stay in winter?
