Most of our guests land at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport, about 45 minutes from our homes in Orihuela Costa. A car gives you the freedom to explore beaches, markets and day trips: here are the car rental companies at the airport, where to find them, and our tips for a rental without surprises.
🛬 What happens when you land
- The desks are in the arrivals hall (floor 0), just after baggage reclaim, without leaving the terminal.
- The cars are parked in the rental car park, in the parking building linked to the terminal. Each company has its own level: follow your company's signs rather than the general signage.
- When you return the car, follow the "Rent a car" signs to the car park, then your company's level.

With a shuttle
- Enterprise and Alamo: office outside the terminal, reached by shuttle bus. From arrivals, go down to level -2, follow "ground transport", cross to the express car park and wait for the bus between stops 45 and 55. Our tips
- Book early, especially in July, August and during school holidays.
- Bring a credit card in the main driver's name: many companies refuse debit cards for the deposit. Check the conditions before you book.
- Read what's included: insurance, excess, deposit amount and fuel policy ("full to full" is usually the simplest).
- Late flight? Check the desk's opening hours and give your flight number: hours vary by company (for example Avis until 11.45pm, OK Mobility until 2am).
- Take photos of the car before you drive off, including the bodywork and wheels.
- Child seats: book them together with the car.
- Before returning the car, fill up at a petrol station in L'Altet, a few minutes from the airport.
🛣️ From the airport to Orihuela Costa
Allow about 45 minutes. The N-332 follows the coast via Santa Pola, Guardamar and Torrevieja. Once you're here, the car opens up our day trips, our beaches, the markets, things to do and golf and padel.
